In 2010, Bob Books received an Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Best Book Award in the Early School Years category for its boxed sets of sight word readers. The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio is highly regarded as an independent guide to children’s toys and media and is trusted by parents as an endorsement of quality. We are proud that Bob Books can now wear the black and gold Best BOOK Award badge from Oppenheim.
What Oppenheim Says About Bob Books:
"Ideal for beginners, these boxed sets of ten little paperback books are designed for true reading beginners. With few words per page and plenty of repetitive vocabulary, these slender books give new readers a sense of success and reinforce the idea of can-do.
The new lavender box is marked for Kindergarten, though many first graders will profit from the simplicity of these little stories.
The greenish boxed set is marked for First Grade, although these are not that much more difficult. There are more position words, but they are supported by the simple drawings that illustrate the collection. Both sets have a set of flash cards and ideas for playing games with them".

Bob Books Reading Magic for iPad has been rated the #1 Alphabet or Digital Board Book in Digital-Storytime's rating of early literacy apps. The blog explains the category:
"There are a lot of ABC learning apps out there that cross-over into a genre I often call “digital board books”. The goal of these apps is to engage children with early literacy activities in an engaging way. Some are more like books, others game-like and some feel more like flash cards or early readers. However you classify them, though, all five of these are quite good."
